Live Music

Use this topic to talk about live music!

In less than a month I’ll be seeing Nine Inch Nails live, I think I got basically ‘front row’ tickets to the secondary stage, so I’ll be behind the GA pit area but have the best seats in the house for the encore or whatever else they do on the second stage. Very hyped. Surprisingly I’ve only seen NIN once before, when they opened for Jane’s Addiction, and that was not the quintessential NIN live show experience with extra stage effects and lights and shit… so this will basically be my very first time seeing NIN live properly, and I’ve been listening to them since 1997.

At the forum! Not the best seats but still excited :clinking_beer_mugs:

Nice! :woman_dancing: Plus you get to see all the back stage stuff kinda.

The show was fucking amazing! Our seats ended being not too bad, definitely saw some backstage stuff.

The performance was so theatrical, and it had a really cohesive story throughout. She also played a lot of past hits, encore was Bad Romance.

Also! Everyone got these LED wristbands that were synced to the show, super cool.

Also also! The show was filmed, she had to stop twice to fix her wig lol.

The LED wristband thing is cool. A looooooong time ago I saw Dan Deacon live and a friend of his set up an app you could load on your phone which flashed your flashlight and screen in time with the music, allegedly, who could tell though, so maybe it wasn’t working right.

Last night I bought tickets to see The Toadies, who I loved as a teenager, but I never saw them live because they released a live album ~2002-ish and the singer sounded so bad I wrote them off as a bad live show. But, they’re playing at The Observatory so it’s basically in my backyard, might as well see them finally. If they suck, well, they can’t suck any worse than Spacehog did.

Observatory sounds like a cool venue, didn’t know they had shows there!

It’s called “The Observatory” but it used to be “The Galaxy” (I saw Eels there around 2005 I think), it’s here in OC very close to us. It’s a big warehouse-looking space, it’s not the LA Observatory

I just saw that Local H is opening for Toadies so no matter what it’ll be a good show.

Ahh I was thinking it was Griffith haha. Well at least if Toadies blows you get to see Local H haha.

seeing nine inch nails tonight!!!

we’re in the second row of seats behind the second stage so it should be a fantastic view of the second part of the show. hopefully the view across the GA pit isn’t too shabby either but we shall seeeeee

I can’t really get any of the videos to be small enough to post on here at the moment so here’s just some pics.

Just got tickets to see Electric Six next month! The opening act is a “All Metal Tribute to The Bee Gees and Beyond” which should be awesome too.
